The Bombay High Court has dismissed MSM Satellite (Singapore) Pte Limited’s petition to prevent World Sport Group from seeking to resolve their IPL media rights dispute through international arbitration

The Bombay High Court has dismissed MSM Satellite (Singapore) Pte Limited’s petition asking it to prevent World Sport Group (Mauritius) from seeking to resolve their dispute over the IPL media rights ‘facilitation fee’ through international arbitration.The original agreement between WSG and MSM states that any disputes between the two parties must be settled by an international arbitration under English law conducted by the International Chamber of Commerce in Singapore. However MSM, the official broadcasters of the IPL, opposed the arbitration process and wanted the High Court to rule on the dispute.Justice Roshan Dalvi’s dismissal of the case means the arbitration process can go ahead unimpeded. “The court has taken a very clear stand,” Suhas Tuljapurkar, a lawyer for WSG, told Cricinfo. “If you have agreed to arbitration, you have to go through arbitration.” Cricinfo has learnt that these proceedings are already underway and typically take about a year to complete.The facilitation fee arose out of the restructuring of the television rights deal following the first IPL. WSG India had originally bought the worldwide telecast rights of the IPL for ten years (2008 to 2017) at a cost of over $1 billion. Meanwhile MSM had secured the rights to broadcast in India for five years (2008 to 2012) and had the option of securing the rights for the remaining five years (2013-2017) by paying WSG an option fee of $25 million.However, the board cancelled the original rights deal in 2009 and renegotiated its deal with WSG Mauritius. On its part, MSM did not want to renegotiate with WSG, wanting a direct contract with the board instead. The result was that MSM eventually negotiated a deal with the BCCI for the same price and duration as WSG Mauritius, in lieu of the latter relinquishing its rights.In a statement released by MSM on April 23, 2010, the company stated the payment of the fee to WSG Mauritius was “for the original option fee of $25 million (Rs 115 crores approximately) to extend the rights to years six till 10 and an additional fee over the nine years of the contract of Rs 310 crores ($55 million approximately).”These fees were to compensate WSG Mauritius for returning its rights for IPL season 2 – 10 to BCCI in favour of MSM, and were necessary if MSM was to secure the rights to IPL season 2-10. “The BCCI subsequently argued that the fee was an “improper payment” and restructured the media rights agreement with MSM in June to recover the facilitation fee from WSG. A representative for MSM declined to comment for this story.

وقال العريان في تصريحات لبرنامج “رقم 10” المذاع على شاشة القناة الأولى المصرية: “اللجنة الأولمبية الدولية حاليًا في مرحلة تشكيل اللجنة الخاصة التي ستتلقى الطلبات من الدول الراغبة في التنظيم، وفتح باب التقدم سيكون عقب أولمبياد باريس 2024”.

ومن جانب آخر، أوضح العريان أن اختيار الاتحاد المصري للخماسي الحديث أفضل اتحاد على مستوى العالم من قبل الاتحاد الدولي، هو إنجاز كبير للرياضة المصرية وليس الخماسي الحديث فقط، مضيفًا: “في السنة الماضية كنا في المركز الثاني خلف روسيا، وهذا العام استطعنا أن نكون أفضل اتحاد على مستوى العالم”.

وأكد العريان أن نجاح مصر في تنظيم البطولات العالمية للخماسية الحديث بشكل مبهر كان من بين الأسباب التي دفعت الاتحاد الدولي لاختيار الاتحاد المصري أفضل اتحاد على مستوى العالم، مشيرا إلى أن حصول مصر على 5 جوائز من أصل 12 جائزة هو نتاج عمل كبير ومجهود مستمر من الجميع.

وأشار العريان إلى أن محمد الجندي لاعب المنتخب الوطني الحاصل على جائزة أفضل لاعب ناشيء على مستوى العالم، يسير على خطى شقيقه أحمد الجندي الحاصل على الميدالية الفضية في أولمبياد طوكيو 2020، معربا عن أمله في أن يحقق محمد الجندي ميدالية أولمبية في باريس 2024.

Exciting signing for Leeds

Having seemingly missed out on him in January, Aaronson’s name is once again the main topic of conversation when it comes to potential incomings at Elland Road.

Furthermore, the £18m-rated star has also drawn praise from Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, who watched him first-hand during his time in the MLS, and saw him deliver a fine performance against Bayern Munich in the Champions League recently.

تحدث جيرو خلال مؤتمر صحفي اليوم الخميس، ونشرت صحيفة “ليكيب” الفرنسية وقائعه من الدوحة.

افتتح جيرو الحديث عن انطباعه بعد خطوات منتخب فرنسا الأولى في قطر، وصرح: “كنا سعداء، ولم نتفاجأ، لأننا علمنا أن الاتحاد الفرنسي لكرة القدم قد بذل كل ما في وسعنا لوضعنا في ظروف جيدة، لكننا راضون، نعم، لنرى أنه سيكون لدينا مساحة أكبر مما كانت عليه في يورو 2021”.

مضيفًا: “هذه مرافق جميلة جدًا، نحن محظوظون بالتدرب في ملعب يتسع لـ2000 مقعد، ومن الجميل أن نكون على اتصال بالجماهير، وأن يستقبلنا المشجعون، ذكرني الترحيب الكبير في بهو الفندق بروسيا أيضًا، حيث كان الناس ودودون للغاية”.

وتابع جيرو: “لم أكن أعلم أن الهنود دعموا منتخب فرنسا كثيرًا وهذا إيجابي، لأن هناك الكثير منهم (يبتسم)”.

وبشأن تواجده في المؤتمر الصحفي وما إذا كان ذلك دليلًا على عدم جاهزية زميله كريم بنزيما لمباراة فرنسا الأولى في المونديال ضد أستراليا، أجاب: “لم نقم بأي تدريب جماعي حتى الآن، ولا نعرف أي شيء عن الفريق الذي سيبدأ الأسبوع المقبل، لا يوجد علامة على شيء”. 

جيرو تحدث أيضًا على التسجيل في كأس العالم، وأكد: “لقد سجلت بالفعل بعض الأهداف خلال يورو 2016، هدف في 2014، لكن لأكون قادرًا على التسجيل في المسابقة الأولى، سيكون ذلك أمرًا مهمًا”.

وإذا كان تحدث مع مدربه ديشامب حول الاستدعاء لكأس العالم وما هو الدور الذي يتوقع أن يلعبه، أفاد جيرو: “بالفعل، أنا سعيد جدًا لوجودي هنا، لأكون جزءًا من المغامرة، إنه لفخر كبير أن أكون قادرًا على المنافسة في كأس العالم للمرة الثالثة”.

Se por um lado o Corinthians evoluiu defensivamente, por outro o ataque continuou a sofrer para criar as jogadas.
