يرى المدير الفني للفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي برشلونة، تشافي هيرنانديز، أن ابتعادهم عن الوصافة سيمثل انتكاسة مع نهاية هذا الموسم.

ويحتل برشلونة المركز الثالث برصيد 73 نقطة ولكن لديه فرصة للانقضاض على الوصافة بعد تعادل جيرونا صاحب المركز الثاني يوم، الجمعة أمام ديبورتيفو ألافيس 2-2.

يمتلك جيرونا 75 نقطة من 35 مباراة بينما يأتي برشلونة في المركز الثالث برصيد 73 نقطة من 34 جولة وبالتالي، تحتاج كتيبة تشافي الفوز غدًا على ريال سوسيداد.

وقال تشافي في مؤتمره الصحفي منذ قليل: “لدينا فرصة للصعود إلى الوصافة، لكن أمامنا خصم صعب مثل ريال سوسيداد ومدرب مميز مثل إيمانول”.

واستمر: “عدم تواجدنا في الوصافة بنهاية الموسم يمثل انتكاسة لنا، لكن لدينا 4 مباريات متبقية وغدًا الفوز ضروري على ريال سوسيداد”.

وعن الصفقات في الموسم المقبل: “لا يزال هناك أسبوعين على نهاية الموسم الحالي، الجميع يتحدث عمن يرحل وعمن ينضم إلى الفريق ولكن هدفنا هو التواجد في المركز الثاني”.

وبسؤاله عن الخروج من الموسم بدون بطولات: “عندما اجتمع الجهاز الفني، حللنا المباريات التي خضناها كانت تحتاج إلى تغيير الأسلوب وهناك حاجة ضرورية لإحداث تغيير في خط الوسط”.

ومشاركة بيدري في كأس أمم أوروبا 2024 من عدمها: “الأمر لا يعتمد علي، الأمر واضح، هناك مدرب في المنتخب هو الذي يقرر، أراه بحالة جيدة، وهو جاهز بنسبة 100%”.

ومستقبل أنسو فاتي: “لا تسألني عن المزيد من اللاعبين، خاصة من هم ليسوا في الفريق حاليًا، لن أتحدث عن التخطيط بشأن أي لاعب ومن ستتم إعارتهم في الموسم المقبل”.

Leeds United now want to sign Aston Villa striker Cameron Archer, and a new report has now revealed whether they stand a good chance of winning the race for his signature this summer.

Are Leeds signing a striker?

With less than two weeks remaining of the summer transfer window, Leeds have made it clear they are interested in signing a new striker, and they have recently identified Norwich City's Josh Sargent as a potential option.

The 49ers are ready to green light a move for the USMNT international, as they would like to bring more American talent through the door, with the club previously signing Brenden Aaronson and Tyler Adams, however the latter has now left to join Bournemouth.

Everton youngster Tom Cannon has been linked with a switch to Elland Road, but journalist Dean Jones has now revealed he does not expect the 20-year-old to join Daniel Farke's side, recently telling GiveMeSport:

"Leeds need to find dependable players and one that fans can actually relate to. So I can understand why they would be looking at someone like Tom Cannon. Coming today, they didn't seem overly optimistic that they were going to get him.”

Another option for the Whites is West Ham United's Michail Antonio, with it being reported they were among the main contenders for him earlier this month, and they could stand a chance of signing him, given that talkSPORT's Alan Brazil reports the Jamaica international will be leaving this summer.

Farke has identified a number of different attacking targets, and Football Insider now report that Leeds want to sign Archer, who is also wanted by clubs from the Premier League, after two successful Championship loans in consecutive seasons.

Sheffield United have already made a £10m offer for the Aston Villa man, which was knocked back, meaning the Yorkshire club may have to shell out a sizeable fee if they are to get a deal over the line in the latter stages of the window, with those at Villa Park holding out for £20m.

A source has told Football Insider that the 21-year-old's price tag is seen as prohibitive, so it will be a difficult move to orchestrate, but the player himself is keen on getting first-team football.

How good is Cameron Archer?

The starlet is yet to cement himself in the first team at Villa Park, but he has now proven himself in the Championship in back-to-back seasons, having scored seven goals in 20 games for Preston North End in the 2021-22 campaign.

Since then, the Englishman has gone on to perform even better with Middlesbrough, weighing in with 11 goals and six assists to lead the club's playoff charge last season, indicating he is probably ready to make the step-up to the Premier League.

That is also the view of presenter Jack Collins, who said in April:

"Cameron Archer is the real deal. Absolute deadeye in front of goal. One way or another, he’ll be in the top flight next year."

As such, it would be a real coup if Leeds were to complete a move for Archer, but he is likely to have Premier League offers in the next two weeks, so it will be difficult to get a deal done.

Tottenham Hotspur are now leading the race for Nottingham Forest winger Brennan Johnson, as his current club may be forced to cash-in on him this summer, a report has revealed.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has recently suggested that Tottenham may "feel they're a little bit thin" at centre-back, but they are actively working on signing one before the deadline, having opened talks with Fulham over a move for Tosin Adarabioyo.

A new central midfielder is being targeted by Ange Postecoglou, with Chelsea's Conor Gallagher believed to be of interest, while the manager is also keen on a replacement for Harry Kane, with talks set to go ahead over Lille's Jonathan David and Gent's Gift Orban.

As such, it is clear Spurs are eager to strengthen the spine of their team, but they are also running the rule over new wide options, and Johnson has emerged as a key target, with Fabrizio Romano recently providing an update on their pursuit of the Forest man.

Speaking on X, the transfer expert said: "Tottenham, prepared to approach Nottingham Forest for Brennan Johnson this week. Ange Postecoglou has already approved this potential move,"

"Not easy deal as Forest already rejected big proposals but interest in Brennan is growing now."

Romano's update follows on from a report from Football Insider, which states Tottenham are now in pole position to sign the winger, who is also being targeted by Chelsea, and the deal could be done in the next week.

In the final days of the transfer window, Forest may be forced to cash-in on the Welshman, as they are struggling to comply with Financial Fair Play, after shelling out a considerable amount of money on signings last season.

The Tricky Trees will be hoping to receive a fee of at least £40m for their academy graduate, and the Lilywhites have been keeping tabs on him for some time, having left scouts wowed with some of his performances.

How many goals has Brennan Johnson scored?

Since breaking into the first team with his boyhood club, the 22-year-old has gone on to score 29 goals in 108 games, during which time he has amassed 12 assists, while he also picked up 13 goals and 14 assists in 49 appearances for Lincoln City.

The Wales international has impressed the manager of his national side, Robert Page, who said in 2022: “He’s almost the finished article now and Forest have got a wonderful player on their hands.

“I’ve been to watch him a few times and he’s playing with freedom. He’s really enjoying his football.”

The versatile attacker, who is capable of playing in three positions, has scored two goals in 19 appearances for his national side, and he was impressive in front of goal in his debut Premier League season last term, scoring eight times in 38 matches.

Johnson's versatility could make him a great option for Postecoglou, and Tottenham will be hoping to get a deal over the line before the September 1st deadline, having put themselves in a strong position to win the race for his signature.

Ryan Taylor of The Daily Express has shared a promising update on Fulham and their attempts to sign Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi before deadline day.

Who will Fulham sign?

Marco Silva's side, despite rushing to make late summer signings, have enjoyed a fairly solid start to the new Premier League campaign with a win, draw and one loss from their opening three top flight encounters.

Fulham caused a Carabao Cup upset on Tuesday evening too, having knocked high-flying Tottenham out of the Carabao Cup second round on penalties, with Tete scoring the decisive spot-kick to send his side through.

The Whites' impressive 2-2 draw away to Arsenal last weekend, courtesy of a dramatic late equaliser from star midfielder Joao Palhinha, also showed there is something to build upon for 2023/2024.

However, with just days of the summer transfer window remaining, Fulham appear to be scrambling for late deals after already sealing moves for Calvin Bassey, Raul Jimenez, Adama Traore and Timothy Castagne.

The latter defender's arrival has particularly excited Fulham vice chairman Tony Khan, who said the Belgian will bring star quality and versatility to Silva's squad.

"I'm excited to welcome Timothy Castagne to Fulham," said Khan (via The BBC).

"I'm pleased that Timothy has committed to a four-year contract with us, and we believe that he'll be an excellent addition to Marco's squad."

Fulham are now also believed to be closing in on a late move to bring Sevilla striker Lucas Ocampos to Craven Cottage, with The Telegraph claiming a deal has been agreed between the clubs.

After the possible signing of Ocampos, it is expected that the west Londoners will be one of the more busy clubs in the last gasp stages of this transfer window.

Iwobi, who starred for Everton at points last season, is another player they're chasing and reporter Taylor of The Express has shared a fairly promising update on their pursuit.

Taking to X, the journalist claims a Fulham move for the 63-cap Nigeria international "looks likely" with Fulham in talks over a late deal.

However, Taylor also urged some caution, as there is another English side who remain interested in taking Iwobi from Goodison Park.

"Fulham in talks to sign Alex Iwobi on permanent deal from Everton," he wrote.

"Toffees have failed to reach agreement with 27-year-old over new contract & current deal expires in summer of 2024. Move looks likely but there is interest from another PL side."

How good is Alex Iwobi?

The 27-year-old started all 38 league matches for Everton last term and starred as one of their best-performing players per 90, according to WhoScored.

Bagging two goals and seven assists in that time, Iwobi also made more key passes per match than any other of his teammates – standing out as a true attacking threat.

Speaking late last year, former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson praised Iwobi's form at the time in an interview with Football Insider.

“I like his versatility," said Robinson.

“His performances have been outstanding. He’s shown that he can play off the left, off the right, he can play centrally.

“I think you can see that Frank Lampard is getting the best out of him right now.

“He’s playing some of the best football of his career right now.”
